Spirit Meal : Isaiah 6:6-13
“ The fire of God doesn’t just burn—it builds. It doesn’t only consume—it commissions.” –Leonard Ravenhill. In the first part of Isaiah’s encounter (verses 1–5), the revealed glory of the LORD awakened awe, conviction, and humility. But the encounter didn’t end there. In verses 6–13, we see how Isaiah was cleansed, commissioned, and challenged. To maximize the revealed glory of God, one must move beyond the moment of encounter to the mission birthed from that encounter.
Isaiah’s journey reveals how we can maximize the glory we behold—not just by falling before it, but by rising in obedience from it. After he confessed his sin, God responded. The seraph took a live coal from the altar—symbolic of divine fire—and cleansed Isaiah’s lips. This tells us that the revealed glory of God is meant to purify and empower us, especially in the area of our calling. For Isaiah, it was his mouth; for others, it may be hands, thoughts, or motives.
When God asked, “Whom shall I send?” Isaiah immediately responded, “Here am I; send me.” This shows that maximizing the glory of God means yielding fully to His will. God’s glory isn’t fully realized in us until it becomes the fuel for our obedience. God warned Isaiah that his message would be rejected. Yet, Isaiah was still expected to speak. The glory of God doesn’t guarantee ease—it guarantees presence and purpose. To walk in God’s revealed glory means to be faithful even when results are not immediate.
