Here is the story of Mr. Adewale. He was a man known for his temper. His home was often filled with tension—arguments with his wife, harsh words to his children, and a general atmosphere of unrest. Though he attended church occasionally, his faith hadn’t yet transformed his heart. One Sunday, something shifted. The sermon was on Christ’s peace and the power of forgiveness. Mr. Adewale felt convicted. That night, he knelt beside his bed and surrendered his life to Jesus. But he didn’t stop there—he apologized to his wife and children, asking for their forgiveness and inviting them to join him in prayer.
Over the next few months, the Adewale home changed. Family devotions became a daily rhythm. Laughter replaced shouting. His children began to ask questions about Jesus, and eventually, each one gave their life to Christ. His wife, moved by the transformation, recommitted her faith. Mr. Adewale didn’t just find peace—he became a peacemaker. His home became a sanctuary of grace, and his story became a testimony to neighbours and friends.
Peacemaking isn’t passive—it’s a bold, Christlike act. It means choosing forgiveness over resentment, gentleness over anger, and unity over division. Jesus didn’t just preach peace; He lived it, even when it cost Him everything. In our homes, we’re called to do the same. Whether you’re a parent, sibling, or child, you can be the spark that ignites peace. Like Mr. Adewale, it begins with surrendering to Christ and allowing His Spirit to guide your words, actions, and attitudes.
